Swap Goodies

First I need to congratulate Karen from Cedar Creek Primitives - she won my Prim Pattern Passalong.   These are patterns that I either didn't use, won from another giveaway or have used and won't use again.  I wanted them to go to someone in blogland that would use them.  Have fun Karen!

In the mail today I received some swap goodies from my new blogging friend, Jody from Star Spangled Pretties.  We decided to have a one on one swap.  Check out these cool signs that I got from Jody.....

FARMHOUSE is hanging over my pantry.  Nothing has been up here, just couldn't find the right item.  YEAH!  Now I have a great sign.

The kids bathroom needed a sign too.  This is the bathroom that we've recently redone.  "Star Soap Co." is perfect over the window in this room.  If you remember from my posting of the redo, there are several stars in this bathroom so the sign is perfect.

I finally put up a curtain too.  It was really hard to make!  I'm kidding.  I coffee stained a flour sack towel and laid it over the tension rod.  No sew!  I still need to paint the window to match the rest of the trim.

This little owl was my 3rd swap goodie from Jody.  I shared with Jody that when I was growing up my friends' grandmother was my surrogate grandmother, as I was grandparent-less.  Grandma Gould had a collection of owls and whenever I see one, I think of her.  I wish that I had one of her owls, but I don't.  This is my second prim owl in honor of Grandma Gould.

I made this one as my first in the collection (Oh boy did I just say that?  Another collection????  shh... dont' tell my husband) from a Brenda Gervais, With thy Needle & Thread design - It's A Hoot!

The cross stitch on this one is tiny,  over one thread on 28 count linen.  I don't think my eyes are what they used to be.

Have a wonderful weekend.  ~Ann

My newest Treasures

Do you have favorite garage sales that every year you make plans to stop at?   I have one and scored big this year.  I am very happy with my treasures - if I had been just a little earlier I could have beat out another gal who likes prim items.  I see her at several garage sales and she had a couple of bagfuls checking out when I arrived.  Thank goodness she left the above items.  The mini chair is now #3 in my collection and it's a real antique - 50 cents!

Found this cute little crock at the TS.  I fell in love with the blue band on the top.  The writing says Win Schuler Restaurants - love the cheese spread - but can do with out the wording on

And my favorite item....

A friend and I were antiquing between our sons' baseball games a few weekends ago.  I found this great tall brown bottle.  I ordered a new label for this one, from Natalie at Blue Cupboard Primitives I roughed it up and tore off the corners.  I thought a corn cob would make the perfect stopper with this label.  Natalie also has some new Halloween labels on Ebay.  Be sure to check them out.

Prim Pattern Pass Along

Some time ago, my blogging friend Sharon from Moosecraft blog had a pattern giveaway.  She decided to part with patterns that she had either made and wasn't going to make again or ones that she bought and never used.  I thought it was a great idea and loved it when I won the patterns.  I've decided to do the same thing.

All but 2 of these patterns are brand new.  Some are ones that I'm passing along from Sharon and others are ones that I've had in my stash and won't be using.  The 2 that were used have all pieces intact.

The patterns include from top left:

American Button Collection from Sew Fabulous designs
Mr. Quivers from Janie's Angel Babies (used)
Jolly  from Catie's Homespun Stitches(used)
Merry Merry from Pieces from my heart
By the Chimney by Heart to Hand

Bottom Row left to right:
Scrappy Penny Rug by Little Thistle Designs
Wooly East Eggs by Country Stitches
Patches n' Posies Wall Hanging by Kindred Spirits
Mr. Jack by Backyard Friends
Frosted Flakes by Backyard Friends

If you would like these patterns, leave me a comment on this post and next Friday I'll pick a lucky winner and send them off to you.  It's as easy as that!  Have a great weekend.  ~Ann

Bathroom Redo

Remember my Bug Bathroom?  This was great when my kids were little, but now they are growing up and we need a more mature look.

I'm almost done with the redo and couldn't wait any longer to post pictures.
If you look closely you'll see that the molding is not completely done yet.  Just a few more pieces and it will be complete.  The star behind the toilet is a piece of scrapbook paper!  I found it one day while I was shopping and just had to purchase it.  It did take awhile to find a frame, but it worked perfectly. All for a total of $3.00!

The two mirrors below are the ones that we cut from the large mirror in the above picture.  I painted the mirror frames blue and gave them a coat of dark brown Briwax.

We put wainscotting up halfway on the walls and all the way up to the ceiling behind the mirrors.  I think I'm going to make a basket to hang in between the mirrors, long and thin.

I do want to paint the cupboards to match the trim, but school just got out!  Maybe next week I can work on those...

The one thing that I am not happy with is my shower curtain.  It used to be white and I decided to dye it tan/dark brown.  It didn't work so well.  It does not match at all.  I've been looking for a Navy one online.  Anyone purchase one that you can recommend?  I may end up making one, as the one that I like is almost $90.00.  That just seems a little high to me.

I do have to make a curtain for the window, not sure yet what it's going to be
