Framed!

My husband recently had time to make some frames for my pile of cross stitch finishes.  I used foam core board with straight pins to mount these pieces.  (Thanks Marly!)  You'll see that I've decided  not to use glass in the frames.

Lydia Broome Sampler by Pineberry Lane.
I used the DMC suggested and stitched on 28 count linen.

Anne Browne Early Style Sampler by Country Rustic Primitives
DMC suggested on 30 count Weeks Dye Works Linen
This one has found a home - next to my great hanging cupboard made by Firecracker Kid (Carol & Tim)

Caroline W. Dickinson Sampler by Country Rustic Primitives
DMC floss on 28 count linen

Tansy Yarrow & Rue by Pineberry Lane
DMC suggested on 30 Count Linen by Notforgotten Farm
I absolutely LOVE the floss colors on this one - my flash washed it out a little - but the colors are just gorgeous.
One of my next stitching projects - Harvest Pinkeep Drum by Stacy Nash Primitives.
I was excited to find this pattern in my older son's bedroom - I thought maybe he was going to make it for me as a surprise birthday present.  When I questioned him about it - did he need some help getting started, supplies, etc - he laughed!  Can you believe that?

Here's the problem ---

Or should I say culprit?  The Graybinator decided to take the pattern out of my cross stitch bag, hauled it upstairs and dumped it in Matthew's room.  Funny thing, he took a different pattern up to my bedroom - I thought maybe my husband was going to start stitching too.

Happy Labor Day!

  1. Oh, Ann ~
Can I send all my stitched but unframed pieces to you...lol? I have plenty that need framing. You did an amazing job. Lydia Broom is my favorite. I will have to buy the pattern though I don't know when I'll find the time to stitch. It's just too hard to put down my hook!
How funny about the kitty thief!
    Happy holiday to you.
    Pug hugs :)

  2. Totally funny about "Graybinator"! Oh my my "gray terror" is probably reading about his exploits - he's doing things but not hiding them - the other morning my husband woke up with a bag of tater chips next to his head - I told him Q was probably just trying to feed him breakfast in bed! We just never know what we will wake up with! Your pieces are totally awesome !

  4. Maybe Graybinator needs to be added to the new pet site on the internet that the NBC nightly news did about pets. Sorry I can't remember the name of the sight, maybe you can see if there is a link on their site.
The samplers and frames are wonderful.

  6. Lucky girl - a husband that makes frames! They're all great and I'm ashamed to admit, I took apart the Lydia Broome pillow and mounted her for framing. Seeing yours convinced me I made the right choice. Your cat can carry a chart? Good boy.

  7. Happiest of Labor Days to you as well, Girlfriend....Hope it's relatively "laborless" for you. And....ahhhhh....what glorious finishes! I adore each and every design. I think we have identical tastes....but, not identical crafting mojo as I haven't picked up a needle or hook in weeks....and definitely not identical husbands....mine would look at me and say "You want me to make WHAT?" (Ummmm....and he would have never voluntarily told me there was an adorable gray kitten at the Town and Country store......) ;o) Your Shadow and my Lizzi, though, could probably go neck in neck in a steal and ditch competition..... Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  10. Ann, you have good taste!! Tansy Yarow and Rue is one I just found last week and absolutly fell in love with:) I finished the pattern you gave me yesterday. It was so fun. I made it into a pinkeep as suggested and hung it in my front entry way. I am going to share it this week. It turned out really beautiful. Maybe your silly cat is trying to tell the family something!! What a cutie. Your frames are beautiful. It's the simple things like that our DH's do that make us happy. Have a great night.

  12. I'm thinking the greybinator figures if all the stitching is hidden then you'd have no choice but to pay her some attention! lol! The frames and finishes look wonderful! Thanks for reminding me that I need to get going on the Lydia Broome again! Happy September to you!
